Antique, Victorian, Black Silk Shawl With Grapevine Design chiffon dress Marked size 5 1/2 CVery large square, black, silk damask antique shawl has a grapevine design woven into the fabric as a border and a deep fringe all around. This would most likely have been worn as mourning. No tags American, mid to late 19th century. Measurements Length 155 cm (61") excluding fringe Width 137 cm (54") excluding fringe Fringe 12. 5 cm (5") Condition Good. The fabric is sound. There are a few 1 2 mm holes and some small areas of thinning of the fabric.
