An Excavated 14th / 15th Century Medieval Rowel Spur - Spur285 bridle with its sandwich tinA Mediaeval spur in excavated condition, this spur has a six pointed rowel which still turns, two of the points of the rowel have broken off.. It has a short neck. The arms of the spur are quite deeply curved to pass below the rider's ankle. The spur is in excavated condition, its surface is dark and somewhat pitted, but stable.
