Vintage Chinese carved wood doll with amulet coin – 23cm straw-stuffed cloth body, painted face, cap & jacket c.1930s–50s Asian Antique cracks or restoration and datedA characterful Chinese folk export doll from the mid 20th century, standing about 23cm tall. The head, hands and feet are carved and painted wood, finished with a glossy varnish that now shows attractive age crazing. The soft body is cloth, stuffed with straw, so it has the authentic light feel these earlier dolls are known for. Dressed in a patterned burgundy jacket with pale green cap hood trimmed in red braid. A small double pierced coin amulet
