The company was founded in 1839 by a Thomas Holstead, though in 1872 the company name changed to Isaac Teasdale, and was later incorporated as Teasdale & Co Ltd in 1898. The company continued to trade until 1963 at which time it was taken over by J. Harradine & Sons Ltd. The tin is in pretty good condition,
